Just bought the Daz Milboys Clothing Pack. Have two questions for anyone who's figured it out ...
How do you transform the pants to shorts and the shirt to a tanktop?
The free texture templates don't seem to have templates for the pants or the shirt. Are they available?
TIA

Don't have the MilBoys pack, but if it's anything like the pack for the girls (and I guess that it is), the pants (or shirt) is divided into material zones; so to make a pair of shorts you'd texture the upper part (the shorts part) and transparency map the parts you don't need to show. In the girlpack the pants have these zones: Capris Shorts Pants Band So: Texture the shorts part, transmap the pants part and probably the capris part, and you'll have neat shorts. Hope this helps :) -Hanz

If there are different groups actually in the CR2, you can make specific parts tranparent (in the Materials box), or even invisible (Object/Properties box). I just checked the DAZ product page, and it says "Material transparency options', so all you need to do is make the upper and lower sleeves transparent for a tank top, and the lower legs transparent for the shorts.

In other words, no need to mess with trans maps, because the OBJ file has been modeled and grouped with the material transparency option in mind. :-)

Thanks for your replies. I thought it might be that too but I just can't seem to get the tanktop looking like it does on the Daz site. I wish Daz would have wrote a paragraph about how to do it in the ReadMe! There lots of dials with cryptic sounding names that I wish were explained as well. Usually I can figure out what they mean and do. Some of them don't really appear to be changing anything! :-(

And there doesn't seem to be a free texture template for either the shirt or the pants. :-(

The materials settings aren't on the dials. In P4, select the shirt, click Render in the top bar, click Materials in the menu that drops down. In the box that comes up, there will be a drop down menu on the right side. Choose the part you want to make transparent, then slide both the Transparency Min and Transparency Max all the way to 100% Make sure you have black in the highlight and ambient color boxes, and click OK. Texture templates are available at the bottom of the order page (link above).
