There's free petitions online... I wonder if it would help to start one that we can all sign in which we'd tell Corel how dissapointed we are in it, and how we wish they could go to hell :) Or something similar. E~ check out petitiononline.com. Mind you, once you write the petition, you can't control it anymore.

I've signed things there before but one of them put me on a spamming list. Anyway apart from that little annoyance I think it is a good idea. Maybe those Corel idiots will eventually take us seriously. Catlin

Well I don't know how seriously they'll take us and the actual question is what will the petition acheive, but it would be nice to have 1000 signatures stating the same thing: that we are dissapointed. But meh. Catlin, you don't have to put in your email on that site :)

Man, i don't think Corel will be receptive to 1000 people saying "Hey, you suck...go to hell."

Neither I, but it's worth a try.

No it isn't. What positive response do you seriously think you are going to get? If you just want to vent your spleen, you may as well do it here.

If we wrote how much Bryce means to us all and our dissappointment at Corels handling of Bryce and us, in a level headed fashion, they may listen. Catlin

Probably not a good idea to put a petition together slamming Corel but maybe a good idea for one that simply lets them know that there is a thriving Bryce Community out there. The following quote was from a few threads down. Clare Shepard said "It is possible we sell the Bryce Code to other companies" She said too: "We see actually no market for Bryce" NO MARKET FOR BRYCE, I realize Corel is going down the tubes and have been bought of by another company but are they really that stunned. Of course they don't see a market for Bryce because their support sucks and I as far as I can tell have not been working on any type of updates or plans on a newer version. Then absolutely there would be no market for a piece of software that would be obsolete in a few years because the company would not keep it current.

Ask yourself ... is Corel really going to listen? They've made their minds up, and the average manager is not let going to get stupid things like facts get in the way of an opinion. Assuming that Corel managers rate as "average".

I remember another decision Corel made: "Kill ventura" And then many emails, letters and so on and what yet? Ventura 10! They listen if you cry loud enough. Tom_

How 'bout asking them to sell it to Mojo?

Another idea: Make it a cooperation...Corel give the name and the sources and Doc building the new Bryce 6 pro using his ideas and the cool ones from the prebeta disussions at Corel I can remember. Maybe get Eric back into it too. And we will see a very fine new Brycerevivalproject ;-) Thomas

Every time I hear those kind of words Wombat my heart screams yesssssssssssssss..........and then I come back to Earth with a thud. If only we could get some of the old heads behind this Bryce could be one of the better CG programs instead of getting older and lamer. Catlin

Aye, it might work, but there's probably not a soul at Corel who cares at all, Drac. I mean, at my "day" job at NW Exteriors, if some schmuck calls in whining about his roof, but he bought the cheapest roof I make, then I pretty much tell him to "Man up, get a more expensive one next time." Not saying it's right, but my guess is Corel-lians probably have a similar attitude. May they burn in hell.

I sent an email to Corel when they dropped Bryce support for the Mac. One of the the managers did call me on the phone to speak about it. The bottom line... We are hosed. They have no intention of doing any further work on Bryce at all. The company is bleeding money so fast they are in panic mode. Our best hope is that they sell the license to someone who will pick up developement. For those who are interested in having an actual person spew their idiocy, you can call them at 1-800-772-6735. There is an option to request a call back. I don't think it will do much good though.

If I called them and asked for a call back do you think they would..................I live in the UK so it should give them a headache if I phoned everyday. 8) Catlin
