I'm working on a free brochure for a Marine Corps friend of mine for one of this years Toys for Tots fundraisers...it's a golf tournament and i wanted to make these balls look like golf balls....any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...I couldn't find a golf ball in free stuff.

Displacement or bump map to create the dimples. Don't do it using geometry as it's costly and avoidable with maps. And, Poser has subdivision displacement, so your base geometry doesn't have to be a billion (approx. ;) polygons. The image map for displacement/bump should be white with gradient circles (going from light gray to black) for the dimples. Kuroyume

You can have this one if you want it. The pitted surface is done with actual geomtry though and weighs in at 1.56 MB.

I'd be inclined to overlay the golfball appearance in Photoshop ...simpler

This is poser 5, I used a tile for a bump map and just played around with the blend to get it to work ( I made my own ball as well cause the high rez sphere is mede from a sphere LOL this one is made from a cube ( it is better for keeping poly's squared)

( You never mentioned what version of poser you are using)
