Well in preperation for my :30 sec spot that I am going to be making I decided to play with IK. Of course instead of just learning how to make some wheels spin (like I will need) I decided to attempt a humoid figure. I have to say that IK is my new buddy. It makes placing things so simple. It can make it some-what-a-pain in the rear b/c you have to make your model so complicated, but its worth it. Nothing is textured yet but thats this weeks project. I think my hobby pic is going to be having 3 of these robots go thru a little set and blow the crap out of everything. What I learned: The IK isnt perfect. I lost a few settings after I saved and rebooted. When you look at the settings you cant see in the info box what your settings are set at..you have to rely on the visual cue in the assemble area. I also learned that it sucks that you cant copy ik settings. I wasnt able to just copy the ik settings from the left to the right leg. This is very annoying when you have to then just guess at the settings b/c you cant see the limits you set on another ik set (you cant even go back and look)..the best work around is to print out the sequence and write down the settings as you go...it sucks but it will save you tons of time. I also about freaked out when I zoomed in the sequence...its not very intuitive to press alt to zoom out...I wanted to kill whoever designed that!!..it took me about 1/2 hour to figure out how to zoom out! Well sorry about the run on sentence's...got to run..no time for grammer.. -Brent
