Dear Photog friends, Now I have a nice digital camera and have taken a few decent images. At first, the excitement of effects got into me and I worked with changing things, sometimes to the good of my concept of art and often to the other end. I got Poser. Just starting in that program and respect the work of those who master 3d work. Then, I thought, to take a good photo and make it look like a 3d software image. Would the comments be, you make it look so real! or similar? That would be cheating. That would belie my total respect for the really skillful and talented 3d digital artists. So, the special effects wore off and were not so exciting. I have moved the swing back to the basic of photography. Though using digital, saving on film, the simple photo image is now the captivating part of my recent adventure into graphics on Rosity. Have any of you had such experience? Do you play with the various 3d and2d programs and appreciate that? Certainly, a photo image can be improved this way and drastically altered to the better or the worse. Even the old darkroom tricks are well mimicked in the various photo enhancement software we can lay our hands on. So, now, this guy is taken in by the basic stuff, a swing back to the beginning and capturing the image presented. Or, the image well thought out and prepared and edited. Any thoughts on this rambling subject? God Bless. TomDart.

I thought of digital camera as pencil, brushes or any computer software as a medium, a way to express myself. Sometime, photo bring me to drawing, sometime drawing bring me to painting. No doubt in my mind, computer software is a releave compare to teddious darkroom tech..lol We can't be good with all existing mediums, but all existing mediums can be good to help us to put accent to our work. I hope what i am saying make sense :)))) My english is so bad from time to time.. or should i say all the time LOL :D

I can appreciate all media or form of an artistic endeavor. to me, it is the piece itself and the emotion it envokes rather than the canvas or the screen it is created on
