Hi Just had some bad news might be made redundent so while I've got the means what should I buy.(V3) Looking at the Daz site thinking hair should I buy goddess or bombshell or any other ideas? What would you consider the most versitile(sp)? this is while Daz has sale on thanks Dave

Sorry to hear that. You should allow at least 6 months salary in the kitty to keep you going between jobs, so use freestuff and start saving!

smiller1 posted Fri, 01 August 2003 at 6:16 AM

Oh, and if you get a new job before 6 months is up- you can spend the redundancy money on stuff.

Sorry..I just deleted a post by accident(bad wheel mouse..bad). I just said I really like the Bombshell hair...but amiller1 is right...start saving...OK go buy a few beers. Truth is,not because of money problems,I just stop buying alot of Poser goodies.I find I'm having alot more fun, just playing with what I already have....trying new morphs...mixing textures....trying new light settings. Perhaps less is more... Hang in there,SWAMP

If it's only yourself you have to worry about, I say go for it. Give yourself something to keep you happy between jobs. If you have to live on tuna for a while big deal..it's only temporary. No comment on the hair...I imagine it would depend on what type of images you want to do.

sorry about your job. For hair,.. I use alot of hair lol. Although I have Bombshell hair and alot of Platinum Club hair, I found that Kozaburo's hair is very good and free! lots of morphs in several of the models too. I especially love his Messy Hair model which I used at least 3 times. I also love danae's hair. Did at least 4 images using Lulu hair in my gallery. That one comes in her lul character pack and is on sale here at Renderosity. lots of morphs too.

Hair... I like the Razzle Dazzle hair. It needs morphing, but once you get it morphed a bit, you can do a lot with it, including a sort of dreds style. Anton's Ponytail collection is highly versitile, and can be used to make a LOT of different styles with only a little effort on your part. The Wild and Messy hair is nice, but only has limited morphing capabilities due to construction.

I really like Quarker's Silky Long Hair prop.

My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

pendarian posted Fri, 01 August 2003 at 11:48 AM

I was thinking Quarker's also. But for versitility, I would go for Hmann's new hair. The bombshell hair is nice, but not as versitile, Harvey's has lots and lots of morphs :)It's just a bit pricey is all :) Quarker on the other hand, I have fallen in love with his Silky Long Hair and with Wenke's textures, they make an awesome pair :)

Thanks, got that one in the cart :o).......Steve

rockets posted Fri, 01 August 2003 at 12:00 PM

I just took a look at Wenke's textures and they do look great, but holy-moly what a BIG file for hair textures! I'll probably get them though and just delete the odd colored ones. :-)

Bombshell hair's not all that great.

It's easier to reduce texture sizes than it is to increase them, I'd rather download a larger file than render something to print size and have it look bad. Khrys, I'd love to see an image of the Razzle Dazzle hair in dreds!

Uh, do a search for my name. About a month or two back, I did some posts of the styles. A few people liked 'em...

This one? I love those morphs, nice work! Couldn't find the dreds though.

Huh. I could have sworn I posted more pics. The dread look can only be fully achieved with a different trans/texture map, but the stringy morph is the base. Basically, the razzle dazzle hair looks a LOT like Anton's ponytail hair when you get down to it.

If you are out of work for a long period of time, you might want to consider getting some hair tutorials and learn to use the hair room. You might have a lot of time on your hands.

Hi Thanks for the input I've already got wild/messy ponytail+expansion and the full and feathered I find they all have uses but the thing I have problems with is getting the feeling of movement in to it like the wind in a storm or the swing as the head turns and sorry guys I hate the era of the razzle dazzle so won't touch it with a barge pole! (sorry just me no offense meant) With regard to the job yesterday was the first we heared of it , the exec officer made an anouncement to the stock exchange , we were told that if we wanted to we could read a transcript on the web or listen to a recording then next thing the BBC and skynews are saying we are losing 550 jobs mainly in our departments by either the begining or the end of 2004. We haven't heared anything else officially since. No damage control anouncement or anything. So you can see why I want to bury myself in image making or a book or a physical model just to escape. thanks again folks Dave (btw I work would you belive for a large newspaper company!! hows that for communication )
