Has anyone had any luck getting the backdrop feature to work in the vertex modeler. I've tried and tried but can't get an image to show up.

What platform and OS? I tried it under my usual OS 9.1 and no dice...I booted up in Jaguar instead (stock configuration) and it worked like a charm. I can't swear this isn't something to do with OpenGL -- which I recall Eovia mentioning is still being worked on. It is so nice in the Vertex modeller, tho, I hope they put it in the spline, too. Heck, in all the windows!

Thanks nomuse, I found the problem. I tried OpenGL and still no go. I then saw Eovia Software option and tried that. Viola! that did the trick. I agree, the backdrop feature should be in all the modelers. BTW I'm running Windows 98 on a PC. Here is an image of a character I'm working on. Just wanted to show it off. I think it turned out pretty well. Thanks again Keith

turned out really well. Excellent! Did you use the backdrop feature for this and if so does it make it easier sorta like a guide or trace? Hope that is not too ignorant of a question, but I have never used a program with backdrop and not sure about it... Regards, Paul

Here is an example. A poor one, but it was the first image I could find

Works like a charm on my system, too -- OS X 10.2.6, dual monitors, 1.25 gig ram, yadda yadda yadda. Backdrop is great, now all that's really needed is to be able to have each of the ortho-views have their own backdrop. Or at least have Left-Right, Top-bottom and Front-back have their own b-d. But, good feature in any case.

Thanks Keithw. I see how that could be very useful. Regards, Paul
