This month's forum challenge page is now ready. The theme is best described by Patricia: *Focus on a transendent moment. Artists are sensitive individuals. Who better, then, to try to capture the feelings that a human being experiences when something extraordinary happens and the veil between the worlds thins....?* Plenty of room there to work with folks, so let's see what you can come up with :) Kev.Patricia posted Fri, 01 August 2003 at 6:58 PM
But for goodness sake, do not focus on my spelling....should be transcendent, not transendent ;P

Er, that was probably my sprelling mistrake. Patricia, I'll go frix it rite know. (Actually, I'll blame it on the secretary. Dang her for going home at closing time!) Thanks to Kevin for activating the page. Someone cut the cable to my condo I was without service for 3 days until they repaired it, but, heh, "heeee's baaaaaaaaaack mon capitan" :) And thanks to Stacy for forwarding my email from work. I can't go to this site at work because of the content. (Bunch of fuddy duddies in the building that don't understand CG and would take offense.)

So here's the deal...

If you have any questions about the theme, post here. I'm sure Patricia will check in from time to time and clarify. From what I understand, this is mainly a challenge to convey a spiritual moment that you may have had. It was expanded to accomodate those who have not had a spiritual moment, or can't put in an image what that moment was like, or just want to take a different approach than spiritual imagery.
Be nice. The no nudity/violence "family" viewing applies. NVIATWAS at an orgasmic moment won't make it in (LOL).
As a reminder, please check your file size and pixel size. Up to 800 pixels on one side, the other side up to 600 pixels. Up to 150k total size so that means jpg compression. I've been resizing for folks but every once in a while I can't for days because my machine is tied up rendering (yes, I use Bryce and Terragen).
Remember that this is about learning. If you learned something then you won. You may learn more by posting your WIP in forum and asking for comments. I encourage that. Love to see more.
Also, as far as I'm concerned, you can post your image in the gallery after you enter it. No need to wait for the voting.
And, of course, theme picker can also enter, so Patricia, lets see what you come up with.
Just make sure you either created an image fresh for the challenge, or heavily modified a previous work THAT HAS NOT BEEN POSTED. Its ok to take a WIP off your hard drive and revive it and finish it if the challenge gives you inspiration. Its not ok to take a posted image and change something just to make it work for the challenge.
If you have any questions, feel free to post in the forum because this is YOUR challenge and I certainly want to make it fun for everyone.
