heres what i did last night-- the model is right around 2 million polys, mainly cuz of the posts at the bottom which have alot of faces. im going to re-do the flags tonight, maybe lessen them in number and change the direction of a few of them. (thanks for the tips guys :)

Very nice start woodhurst, looks like a major undertaking. Good luck with the project and keep us pasted.

Great modelling woodhurst, your colosseum is stunning. And Roch, that is a brilliant idea for an army scene or crowds of people. 8) Catlin

BTW, not to be picky or anything, but wouldn't the flags all be flying in the same direction?

As I suspected, you were doing the flags like they really were. :) The model is really amazing, Jordan.

brholte posted Sun, 10 August 2003 at 10:09 PM

Bryster- not necessarily. With such a big, wide structure, its very possible that the wind direction could be different in some areas. But hey, I don't know anything about it........ brholte

Wow, that colisseum model is really amazing! And if you use Rochr's fantastic crowd-lattice idea I think you could totally replicate that reference shot!

excellent model. I agree with DC about the flags. In the real world they are all blown in the same direction.
