Downloaded an evaluation copy of Viruscan32, installed it and scanned six zips worth of poser & bryce renderings and textures. Now, my image editors (PS5.5 & Photopaint 8) and even my image viewer (ACDSee32) gives me an "invalid jpeg marker" for EVERY xaxtdamn file! What's an "invalid jpeg marker" error? Can i fix it with a utility or something? Still got the models with their rendering settings, so I guess I'll have to rerender, right (cringe...)? Tried fixing the zips with scandisk but to no avail. Is their a way of salvaging those files? The only good thing that came out of it was that I hadn't done a full scan of all files on my hard drives. Geez, now i feel like rendering a 3ds hammer & hitting myself on the head...hehehehehe. Any help would be much appreciated.

Just an addendum folks: i downloaded the evaluation copy from lycos and forgot one of the simplest rules of downloading: trust no one ( cue x-files theme). There are probably trojan horse copies of Macafee's programs out there and it pays to be extra wary. Nevertheless, I'm still sticking with my old Macafee Viruscan 4 and hitting the delete key with the Viruscan 32 v.5 selected.

heyas; as far as i know, it is not possible to put a virus into a picture, or any non-executable program, so scanning jpgs, cr2's etc probably isn't worth the trouble. (though ya never know what they'll come up with next....) dunno what an invalid jpg marker is. closest thing i had was some kinda wrong jpg header, in 'progressive' jpgs that my old psp3 can't open.
