I've been working on a Content Management System and will be relaunching my site once it's completed.
The file system of this software package allows for multiple file mirrors (similar to what I originally implemented on the 3D-CC a long time ago). My personal bandwidth is very limited so many of the items that will be in that database will not be served from my site's local server. As such, a page would appear when browsing to a free item that shows a drop-down selection to select the file mirror for some of these items.
This serves a three-fold purpose:1. I could concievably put a better detailed description/preview of the freestuff item on this page
I guess my question is both if this would be okay with the PTB as well as if you guys (the community) have any problem with this (it won't require registration to access those items, BTW...)

No problems from me.. in fact it'd be a great boon as you wouldn't be stuck behind a huge bandwidth clog 8 ) it sounds like a good idea... NIce one Drax

I don't think that would be a problem DraX. It fits easily within the spirit of Freestuff. Lots of members have their Freestuff download button link to a page with more description and images. Go for it :) Kev.

Sounds like a very good idea and gives you some control about the downloads. Putting a direct link to your files into Freestuff can give you endless trouble with your bandwith.

Well, the reason I asked is because back when I implemented this kind of system on the 3D-CC, one of the moderators went through and deleted ALL of the 3D-CC Freestuff items that linked to such a page and told us we couldn't do that, but it appears that finally the rules have changed.
