This is what it looks like transmapped. I also used the "curlstex" texture from the transmapped conform curls as a texture and bump map. Even with the transmap, there are still these odd threads sticking out ver stiffly. I think they are the dangly pieces from the topknot, but they are escaping the transmap somehow. I'd really like to get rid of them.

Without a modeler and no joy with the trans map your only option that I can think of is to move them with the magnets. PhilC

I was afraid of that>_< I really stink at magnets:(

PhilC ( ) posted Tue, 11 July 2000 at 7:47 PM

I use magnets this way:- 1) Select part and load magnet. 2) Dont move the base. 3) Move the magnet in the direction you want the alteration to go. 4) Now, and only now do I move the Mag Zone. I scale and position to enclose only those parts I want to move. 5) Next I spawn a morph target, save and now use this new morph to do the job. 6) If that did not work I try again. I dont keep moving the magnet, and I never move the base. Works for me, hope it helps you :) PhilC

I'll try it. Thanks for the tip. Casey

The magnet doesn't seem to work on this one. The thready things
seem to somehow be connected to the ponytail even though they look
like they are part of the head hair. They get longer as the
ponytail gets longer, and they escape the transmap. Any magnet, in
any position or scale applied to these thready things also affects
the ponytail. This is really frustrating.>_

I went back and made a test texture (rainbow) to see where the threads are coming from...they are coming from the hair and not from the ponytail....the MT for the ponytail length must be connected to the thread hairs, but why would they escape the transmap?

use the grouping tool and make new material for those parts, then un-tex map them and make them invisible. -darth

My suggestion would be exactly the same as Darth's - group them and give them a new material, then make them totally transparent. Paul

Thanks so much for all your help folks. I'm going to do both. I am really curious as to where these things originate from.
