I tell you what, I never realized how hard it is sometimes to switch gears in certain things. It's one thing to go out and play a pickup game of basketball and then scurry over to the softball diamond and play a game...but to switch from Bryce to some Web design? I swear, it seems like an impossible task sometimes! I'm doing this proposal for a company back in my hometown for a site for their three assisted living communities. I had a great start, very creative, came up with all the pages, site layout, etc...even got the index page done. But I stopped working on it last weekend for a couple of days b/c of birthday activities. So then, I decided to start this bright idea I got about a Bryce image a week ago on Sunday Night...turns out it's going together exactly how I had planned (very rarely happens)...I'm really excited about this. Now tonight, I dedicated myself to working on the Web proposal, and it's like I have half an idea if that, and I can't seem to get the gears started to think of anything more. Yet I have 1,001 more ideas and plans I have for my Bryce pic (which, btw, I'm going retroooooooooo. ;) I wanted to hold off on Bryce until I got this proposal done, but I wanted to start my idea before I got tired of it. Now I'm having a hell of a time switching gears back. My ultimate questions, after my mile-long rant, is......does anyone ELSE experience this?!? I know someone has to, but sometimes I feel like I'm the only one. :( MD

Welcome to the club my friend!! LOL, My work requires this, Painting(presently doing hangers at an airforce base), floorcovering (Senior Living Facility), (rebuilding computers for family & friends..2 right now). My home has at least 10 projects going on, The rental property has 2 units required to be finished by months end and one is office the other residential & a complete bathroom from scratch. Today is Our wedding anniversary though we celebrated all day yesterday. I've made 6 renderings in a 2 week period & could only post 2 I even felt were barely up to snuff. It's party time!! I love life & whatever crazies it can throw my way. Oh yeah, last week my truck broke and I had to buy a new one, YEEHAWW. Enjoy MD, It's a one way trip.(forward & upward)

I go through it all the time MadDog, from doin film work back to design stuff (brochures etc) then to web stuff then character animation AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaa it can get a bit daunting, you put one thing on the back burner a bit, then the next thing ya know you're bored with it or forgot your train of thought on that specific project or whatever LOL!! You're not alone for sure!! I haven't gotten to work on my Shahnra Project animations and such in over a year now...sigh....I feel your pain bud.

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

I'm going through it now. I have a commissioned piece I'm working on (a 16" x 20" entirely 2D print project where a bunch of aliens are dancing), but I can't seem to get into it much. All I want to do is create another 3D image and do some postwork on it, or maybe write a book or something. I think it's partly avoidance or reluctance of the thing you have to do and partly enthusiasm for the thing you really want to be doing right this moment. Totally natural and very common.

I have about a dozen projects ongoing at the moment. Everything from shortening a door to re-touching some prints of my grandchildren for my daughter. While I'm on the pc I have major projects relating to work and of course several long-term Bryce projects. I'm also building a model of HMS Victory from a plastic kit (over 3 feet high)that's gonna take several hundred hours I think. (It's the ultimate in 3d...LOL) Then there's my garden...I've been planning that for 15 years! We're now almost at the stage where we can bring in the digging machines to start the landscaping. Switching Gears? I've forgotten how many clutches I've burned out already......

Yeah, join the club, I have two exhibits coming up next month (real world) one is in The Aspen Art Museum so the assemblage I do for that has to be stellar, 4 new products in the marketplace, modeling for the products, redsign my sisters website, finish up the Sweet Dreams gift boxes for my sisters store (custom designed fabric covered boxes with all natural handmade potpourris, dreampillows and my aromatherpy candles, if anyone is interested), do the challenge, plus 5 wips that are at varies stages (need to do the modeling), design work for a local ironwork company, front landscaping has to be in before winter, clean the house, where's my list, I thought of project 259,856,457 just now.......8]

Yep MadDog.... I am right with ya... I have been dealing with this dilemma for about the last 25 years or so. I expect that I will encounter this dilemma for another 25 yrs. Lol

I've lost my list on all the things that I'm supposed to be doing or intend to do or am waiting on word from someone else to do. There are work commitments, painting commitments, 3D commitments, family commitments..............and the list goes on. Sometimes I can go along quite happily from one job to the next, which I think comes from picture painting 'cos I've always got more than one to work on. But sometimes the gears seem to stick and I forget what my next move is supposed to be. So don't worry dear MD you are in good company and everything always seems to get there in the end. 8) Catlin
