(I think the spelling is right). Just wondering which product is better...better design, better value for money, etc., etc. I'm thinking about getting one or t'other. Which one would you recommend? Thanks in advance, Doc

Sorry can't help, I think they both offer a great different look so I had to get them both. Sharen

LOL...thanks, Sharen. That's what I was trying to avoid with all the add-on packs, etc. I may have to go that route too. Just thought I'd see if there were overwhelming opinions one way or the other. And thank you for all the GREAT stuff at SAMS3D, while I'm at it! Doc

it's so hard to compare the two but there are some fabulous clothes just out and coming out for Koshini which might be the deal breaker for me if I were choosing...:>)

LaRoo vs. Koshini: THE GRUDGE MATCH Yes, Koshini's already kicked Aiko's sorry anime butt, and now she's going to take on... LaRoo! Sorry. The title of this just made me giggle and think this way (because I'm a silly person sometimes). I don't think you can say which is "better". They're very different and have different qualities. LaRoo will certainly be very well supported by RDNA. There are already lots of clothing packs for her, several texture sets available, and lots of freebies, as well. Koshini has a lot of clothing packs, tons of character/texture kits, and a boyfriend, Ichiro. But she's been around longer, so she's going to have more stuff right now. Koshini's clothes/kits tend to be more dreamy, fairy tale, comic book, romantic, etc. LaRoos's stuff, so far, includes sexy undies and minidresses, swimsuit, catsuit (with optional lace), a sci-fi type suit, go-go boots, etc. Koshini fits the artistic vision of LadyLittlefox, so if you're interested in the direction Koshini's stuff is likely to go, visit her website and see :) LaRoo fits the fantasy/scifi type image/style of RDNA. Have a look around RDNA to get a feel for the sort of stuff they produce there, because that's the direction LaRoo is likely to go. Dunno if this helps or not, but there are some points to think about. I have both. They have different purposes and things they each do well. I think they're both worthy products. :) bonni

And with a little bit of adjustment you can dress LaRoo with Koshini's clothes. They might not fit 100% but who cares how it looks on the back when you render her from the front, huh? ;-).

well i have them both, and i have to say that koshini is my favorite poser character EVER!!!!! (sorry DNA) i love laroo also, she is very well made and lots of awesome clothes, but there is just something about koshini that i can't quite put my finger on that gives her the edge, one thing i like also is the fact that when clothing etc for koshini is released by ladylittlefox you get not only the clothes but the hair and shoes also all in one package, absolutely nothing wrong with Laroo though, just that koshini is my preference :)

Sixus's Trixie could kick both thier asses hahaha. I don't have Koshini, do have LaRoo, MayaDoll, and Trixie. I'm sure more and more will come out for LaRoo as RuntimeDNA is gunna support her well. Sixus's Trixie model is a lot of fun, pretty cheap, free clothing pack now on Sixus' site. Very different look. complements LaRoo nicely. I like the variety coming along. need a few more Anime/toonish male dolls and then we can throw together Anime cartoons!! woohoo. haha.

Personally, I like Koshini better, but that's just me - it's all opinion - I think it's because she's so unique. (have to admit, tho - La'roo is a tempting buy - and RDNA has a lot of artists to turn out and new itmes and support her). On the other hand, the Koshini clothing sets stand a world apart from anything else out there. Oh, and Koshini has a boyfriend available as well. :) Rob

I love Koshini and Ichiro, I have LaRoo as well, aside from V3 LaRoo is my personal favorite followed by that sweet Koshini. :) They all have their uses, and are cool, I can't wait til capsces' pack for Koshini comes out, those are some neat variants on Koshini.
Crescent posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 2:53 PM
Right now I really prefer Koshini, but there's a new morph pack coming out soon for LaRoo which may bring her up a few notches IMO.

I think LaRoo is a better value. She's got two more fingers... :D JV

Riddokun posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 4:39 PM
i sure wil get flame but neither laroo nor koshini wins my attention. koshini is an interesting work, for sure, but really much too cartoon and deformed... yet it can suits many uses. Laroo is a v3like wanabee with exxagerated eyes and (personnal opinion) a strange face shape. I had already been enough into japanese animation, mangas and japanese poser websites since very long, and, according to my customs and what i see usually and like to see, both these products are really not interesting. a good attempt though is the Yuka character from playwithposer, it is much in the spirit of anime. I never tried aiko, it seemed cool to me from what i saw. Now i think tat with a bit imagination and work, even Mayadoll can really outmatch Laroo in her own field and intent. only koshini has a legitimate/credible purpose and use, but nothing to do wth eastern anime. For laroo, i was very disapointed from what i saw on RDNA themselves or on other works. I hope someone can show me another facet of laroo that could convince me sorry for criticism but when talking about anime i am not ready to accept (or even pay) for the first self laelled product that "claims" anime legacy !
shadowcat posted Wed, 13 August 2003 at 5:15 PM
Riddokun- Koshini & Ichiro were not designed after eastern anime. Little Fox stated that they were inspired by Elfquest, an American comic.

I'm with MachineClaw on this one :) I don't have Koshini but have both LaRoo and Trixie. Someone else said there was no one "better", just "different" and I think that's right. It really depends on your tastes. Koshini never appealed to me but I love LaRoo and Trixie. Trixie is very different.....she might be described as a LaRoo from the "wrong side of the tracks". She and LaRoo together remind me of my school days when all the "goodie, goodie" cheerleader types stuck their noses up at the "not quite as cute" and not quite as popular, "pigtailed" girls :) Anyway....I can't tell you which one to buy.....just buy whatever appeals to you. If it's both.....save your pennies and get 'em both :)
ChuckEvans posted Thu, 14 August 2003 at 8:39 AM
I thought Koshini was based on an Eastern anime style (whose name I can't think of now) that sported an exagerated headsize. There was a word she used but I'm really drawing a blank.
elizabyte posted Thu, 14 August 2003 at 9:34 AM
Ask LadyLittlefox. She's very approachable and I'm sure she'll be happy to share her influences if you're curious. ElfQuest is definitely one of them. I'm not sure the others, but there are some. Perhaps she might drop by and enlighten us... ;) bonni
