Fans of Hankster's "HMS Victory" model, Noggin's 18th Century pirate and Naval uniforms for Mike, and the other 18th Century stuff- watch for this movie coming out in November. Whether you like or dislike Russell Crowe's sometimes nasty off-screen personality, he is a GREAT actor, and this movie could be headed towards some Oscars.Veritas777 posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 7:41 PM

More "background" on this movie that has an all-star cast, large budget and great writer-director. I'm heading to the REN Marketplace and buying up all the Ships and Authenic 18th Century Stuff I can find (heh).Don posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 9:31 PM
I think this movie was based on the novel by Patrick O'Brien, who wrote a series of about 20 novels about an 19th C. British Naval Captain, Jack Aubrey. They are really great books! PoserWorld has an 1805 naval uniform which is really good. Coat, hat, pants, boots. I did a little work with it and made a marine character from it. See the tutorial at Arcana on Character Creation for Non-modlers. And I think PW has a partial ship's deck model. And is it SAM's 3D that has the USS Constitution sailing ship? DAZ has a couple of naval cannons, a pirate pack, and some Sea Stuff (anchor, treasure chest and starfish). -Don
