Just to show, The Russian moonrocket N1 wich should have brought the Russians to the moon, they attempted 4 launches wich all failed (one blew up the launchpad as well) after wich the Russian scrapped the project and denied for years that such a program even existed. As a bitter twist of fate, a direct descendant of the RD33 engine wich should have lifted the N1 is now being used in the latest American Delta-rockets. Yes an american Rocket flying a with a Russian engine.

The other is a Japanese EBU (Electrical Block Unit), i have now finished the Cab and a bit of thingies on the roof, meanwhile it is for 90% sure that i will spend my Holiday in Japan next year, Yattaaaaa.

Sure thing, it is finally going to happen after several times being able to go because you have enough free hours but no money and two times having the money but no time left (i now have enough time left for 15 weeks of free time :-). Nice models. yatta??? confused I remember those russian engines where years ahead of the american ones. 20 or 40% more efficit or something. Only problem was they wheren't as reliable as the American ones. They where much more complex, so there where lot's more things that could go wrong.

Yattaa does mean as much as Yippeee and more like "I have done it", i have made the decision, i am going to Japan next year, 3 weeks, finally. As for the engines, they are the so-called closed-cycle engines wich are more efficient than the open-cycle engine wich just waste precious fuel in the bre-burner wich drives the pumps and then throw it out. A closed-cylce engine leads it to the burning-chamber thus giving it a higher efficiency, the problem is that it also leads to higher pressures and temperatures (especially with a Hydrogen/LOX fuel, the N1 used Kerosene/LOX), if the engine does not work properly it could simply melt or explode. You can solve that problem partly by keeping the engines smaller, but you need more of them, and N1 had 30 engines (as to the Saturn V who had only 5 big open-cycle engines) in its first stage, an enginering nightmare especially since the chief-designer Korolev died in 1966. The electric block unit reminds me a lot of an episode of the x-files. Excellent modelling on both! Last year my roomate showed me a music video by a japanese group (don't remember the name, sorry) where all the singers were walking around a city/beach/other places and dancing wearing nothing but fig leaves, and the chorus was "yatta!" repeated over and over again. One of the funniest things I've ever seen ;).
