Remember the Aesop stories which all had a moral at the end, such as the Fox and the Sour Grapes? Okay, how about the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show with the Fractured Fairy Tales? Well, now it's your turn to add to the wisdom of the ages. Take a common saying/moral and write an original story around it. Examples include "a watched pot never boils," "time flies when you're having fun," and "don't count your chickens before they're hatched." The story can be serious or funny, your pick. The saying can be from another language, but it would help if it was translated into English. Please post your entry in this thread. Post as many entries as you like. Entries will be accepted until 22 September, at which point voting will begin. (I'll be on vacation at the end of September through the beginning of October, so the Sept. results and the October Challenge may be slightly delayed. I don't know how much Internet access I'll have while on vacation.) Questions, comments, entries? ;-) Oh, and you can "blame" this idea on dialyn.
