To celebrate my birthday I am having a one-day sale of my entire store, even though there is not that much in it :) But, for each item you purchase you will receive a free package of your choice, of equal or lesser value than the purchased item. It runs today only. As old as I am getting, I may not be here tomorrow, lol. Maggee's Store

Thank you for celebrating with us... and stop fretting about getting older. My Grandma looked old when she was 40 (she'd lost all of her teeth by then, and hated wearing the mouthpiece, so my mental image is a bit biased). She just died, 50 years later. She had to replace a small rental house (one of the 11 units she owned) and spent the last year with plans and contractors and wallpaper patterns. She was still sharp and still determined to keep making things and being productive. Age is a state of mind: even if our bodies don't cooperate, we really are only as old as we think we are. May I suggest a carousel ride? An ice cream cone? Renting a DVD such as "Spirited Away" and telling yourself that it is a cartoon for adults? (It is actually more than that.) Browsing through the class schedule for the fall semester of a local community college? At $40-50 per class, depending upon the number of units, taking a class here or there keeps the rust off the grey cells. I've used PhotoShop professionally for more than a decade... but learned an absolutely amazing amount in this PS7 class last spring (there were chunks of the tool box I'd never opened, because I never needed them for a project). I'm fighting off dementia with this chronic migraine, so $100 year to keep my brain alive seems like a good investment. Besides, I enjoyed the class and look forward to this next one. Looking forward seems to be a key. :) What do you plan to have in the Marketplace next year at this time, and what will you need to learn to accomplish that? PS, let someone else do the dishes today. Birthdays are special, and our own birthdays the most special of all. Carolly

Well, I don't feel old, the numbers just sound awful, lol. And I have done almost nothing today for a change. I did get a birthday gift... my kitty had babies today :) And thanks for the kind words, they are appreciated

Kittens? Excitement enough. :) I'm glad that you took time to watch and play and tell "mamacat" how wonderful she is. Carolly

For my birthday I went out and bought something I've wanted for a long, long time... an ice cream blender like the one they had in the soda fountain where I worked in my teens - you know the kind - with the metal cup. All I can say is "Wahoo! Real chocolate malteds now!" :) Glad your birthday was good, Maggee. Kate (who is now 49 but telling people she's 54)
