i think i might be useing 5 sp2 instead fo 5 sp3 i will check when i get home. but anyway the link points to three images all rendered in p5 the first one using p4 render mode and looks like the intended image the second is the firefly version and somthing went wrong with the render and the third is a touched up version of the first render just for fun.... v3 gost male morphs for v3 kain edo daz flattop daz f dress and textures curtains and drapes from somewhere in renderosity (i cant remember who right now) these are the main products off the top of my head p4 1 gig machine with 37% freespace on a 80gig defraged drive i did the clean up of the drive prior to the renders and p5 liked the room.... firefly takes longer to render and just pegs the machine for memory and cpu to me this image should not take hours to render. if anybody has any sugestions let me know thanks http://www.theattic.us/messages.ez?forum_id=18&Form.ShowMessage=5732compiler posted Fri, 22 August 2003 at 5:46 PM

Deactivate in your render options Smooth polygons. One of your background props don't like this option. Mazak

Up your bucket size to at least 70-- lots of people use more, but I'm a weenie. My renders speeded up with higher buckets and still looked quite good. Slow Firefly is not news. Especially with V3 involved. You got three figures in a V3 render? I've never been able to do that. Freezing Firefly is not news. Though it usually freezes pre-render, it's not unheard of to choke at hair or some other figure it's vexed at. Usually runs 100% processor at this point. I dont have Sp3, cause SP2 took care of most of the problems bothering me the most. Emily

Oh one more thing-- dont deactivate smooth polys on the render-- deactivate it on all props, like chairs and walls, things you don't want puffy. Use the Properties side of the parameters toolbar. You never know what might go haywire, I had a floor ballon through half the set last night while a wall stayed nice and flat. Emily

ok here is the deal.... i tried several different ways and the only way to get firefly to work with this image is to remove smooth polys from the render and keept he bucket at 35. just thought you would want to know thanks for your help
