'something like "honey" in the US' The direct translation would actually be 'Dear' (In Italian it's 'cara') Of course, if you're a wife talking to hubby, you'd use 'cher'. Hmmm.... strange that Cher (the singer) didn't use Cherie. Mind you, with a boyfriend called Sonny Bono, who knows.... LOL. mac
