First of all you'll need a modelling program. Have you got one?

hie thee to the modelling forum here, for free modellers..I use Wings 3d, but clothing modelling is far beyond me..;) there's several threads in the Poser forum on this, so do a search on 'model', and you'll get more suggestions than you'd ever use..isn't advice like that?..;)

You should be able to use Anim8or, I don't have it myself. I don't know Milkshape at all. There should be some links to tuorials for making clothes in Anim8or if you search the forum, I'm sure I've seen some :-)

Me? I haven't ventured into clothes, I've limited myself to simple props so far. I had a demo of 3DS Max but it ran out, so I've not got a modeller at the moment. Do you have the Pro version of Anim8or? Is it any good? I have the freebie version but I haven't used it very much.

I use milkshape, but its a very lowpoly modeller and is there for unsuitable for Poser apart from making very simple props :)

There is a new book due out soon on character creation in Poser. It is by B.L. Render and is "The Secrets of Figure Creation in Poser". It was about $32.00 at Amazon.

Anim8or is only a free version, I think karen1573 is refering to UVmapper Pro. Gerlday has a tutorial for making Poser clothes with Anim8or. There is also some still waiting for a tutorial making clothes with Wings3d as a few have had excellent results. BloodSong's book is out now, availible at Amazon.com! And by the way, if you plan on doing a lot (or little) UVmapping then YES the Pro version is worth every cent and MORE!

O thanks Igo, I must have got confused. I knew UVM had a Pro but I thought Anim8or did too.

Be sure to check out the newest version of Anim8or 0.85, he has added some really nice new tools!! It's still in beta but runs great for me on Win98SE. I'm am still trying to get a grasp on Wings3D myself, hopfully it will start to click as it is far more powerful. Check out what Bushi managed to pull off with it!
