...along comes *this* new little quirk! Thought I'd fool around looking to create some new textures and lo and behold I've got a case of the berserked out primitives...LOL!! As seen in the inset, when rendered all is fine, but just wondering if anyone has encountered this before? Display mode set to wireframe as always and NO, no OpenGL enabled!!Have gone in and out of VUE a few time but they're stillll there ;-)! ==steve

Would love to know what is the reason for this. As I encountered this few times of my own. I usually restart the PC to bring it back to normal.

Ahhhh, goodie! Then I'm NOT alone here,, nish ;-)! Tried the reboot quick-fix with no luck! Maybe it's just a 24 hour bug thing?!? We'll see come morning. ==steve

Wow, gone in 24 hours. Self healing bugs on computers... now that would be nice ;) Maybe in the near future. I have had this problem many times. I generally delete the corrupt object and build again. If problem persists, I just put up with it. It's only a design display issue.

Steve, have you tried boosting the quality of the 'background draw' under File/Options? - Charles

It's funny you should mention this, Charles as I had just shut off 'background draw' 'cuz I thought that VUE was responding kind of sluggishly! SO, I just turned it back on and NOW when I bring a couple of primitives in they are acting as if they were animated, i.e. they load all wonked-out and then they will assume their 'normal' shape...select(say the circle) and it wonks out again before returning once again to 'normal'...OR if I select one primitive another primitive will act up again! Wish I could capture this with CaptureExpress 'cuz it is kinda fun to watch even tho' it is kind of exasperating as it makes it difficult to align them visually when they're performing this little ani. ;-) ==steve

TADA!!! Knew it had to be something simple here...being the software genius that I am...LOL!! I finally pushed 'background draw' AND 'instant draw' all the way up and NO MORE transforming primitives!! ==steve Siggghhh, and they were soooooo much fun to watch ;-)!

lol ... not a bad idea. But, is it gonna slow down Vue? Sigh ... I wish I had a PC with Pentium100 with ten thousand MB Ram. :-)

Evidently not, nish! I just loaded one plum tree and it had no problem duplicating (very quickly) all the way up to 160 of the little babies ;-)! Threw a few volumetric lights, some reflective materials and some fog and haze for good measure and it's still performing rather well, fingers and toes crossed as I type this...of course making it extremely difficult to do so with any efficiency...but things seem back to normal! Now I'm wondering HOW I got myself into this predicament in the first place...hehe?!? BTW, I'm running a P4/1.9GhZ/1GbRAM and my last pic still slowed it down to molasses-like speed;-)!! Must be all them Vikings! ==steve
