Ok, here's the deal... Yours truly (me, the guy who always ends up in the corner with JarJar) set a closing date of August 27 at midnight for the vote. That was a 2 day vote. The main rules page says we will have a 3 day vote and I absolutely intended to have a 3 day vote, but alas, I just can't add (and nobody caught it). So, after brief discussion with the PTB's the three day vote is what was used to tally.

Just so you know, there was no practical difference. At the two day mark A_ and Tasha were ONE point apart. Sooo.. they share the next challenge and BOTH are the winners.

A_ and Tasha, you can either collaborate for a theme for September and IM me with it, or you can both submit your individual themes and we'll go from there.

Just some housekeeping things... 1. I check the uploads every night after work and approve or IM folks about glitches at that time. There is no auto responder so if you upload and don't see your image for a while, this is probably the reason. 2. Also, on occasion, I need to resize the image to fit the pixel or file size limit and on occasion my machine is tied up with the render engine. I'll try to IM you so you know. If I resize your pic, I will always IM you so that you can take a look and decide if you like it or not. 3. My hat is off to everyone for honoring the nudity / violence rules. Its much tighter here than for the gallery and you have done well. Its only a rare occasion when I have to ditch one or ask Kevin for the gladiator thumb. I've probably been too liberal with the borderline decisions. Anyway, thanks for your help and I hope this monthly thing grows. 4. I'd love to see some WIPs in the forum. We patterned this after the Brycers who very often post an image and ask for tips and ideas. The whole point is to learn something and while the theme does help with that, we can also learn from each other. Can't wait to see what the dynamic duo comes up with for September!

I didn't make it in to vote in time, but it was terrific to look through all of the pieces submitted!! Congrats to everyone! Everyone did a great job. I cannot wait to see the next theme!

Congratulations to the winners. And very well deserved, too. Now, a serious question - Can we please have a contest where the "no nudes" requirement is dropped? I would have entered my last gallery image, except it's a definite nude. There wasn't any real way to cover up, either, without looking contrived or silly. There was no sexual content - not even hinted at - it's a naked body being re-formed after death.
