The reason I ask is simple: After flirting about with it for all this time, I finally broke down and scored a G4 (The Cube thingy no less). Here's exactly what I've got coming ("bestrafer69" happens to be my ebay handle):

I intend to upgrade the video to a GeForce2 MX, and the CPU from a G4 500 to a dual G4 1.2 (with the Sonnet kit). Then I intend to bolt on a big-assed fan to keep it all cool.
Meanwhile, I need to start shoving CG programs over from my soon-to-be-converted-into-storage-space Win32 partition on my dual-boot Win/Lin box.
I'd gotten disgusted with P5 on Windows, so I'm leary of getting the Mac version, but there's no P4/PPP for OSX. Therefore, what I kinda want to know from the Mac folks who have P5 is this...
Any bugs yet?
What hardware are you running it on? (CPU type & speed, and RAM)
how long does it take to render something in P4/Firefly modes?
Do you yourself think it was worth it?
I suppose I could run P4/PPP in Classic mode (have to buy that too, since I only have the Win32 version).

"Any good"? Definitely. Good enough? Color me undecided. This link will show you what I mean:

As you can imagine, the Renderosity Mac Forum in general has had a great deal of discussion on this issue in the last three weeks. I've attached a link to the forum. Jump back three weeks then scan forward through the comments to get a feel for how the introduction has gone over in the Poser Mac community.
Also if you still have a P4 or PPP disc, then you probably already have the Mac version; P4 and PPP were shipped as dual boot CD-ROMs. Pop the disc into your Cube and check it out.

Works well for me, albeit very slowly but I think it's worth the 99$ upgrade. Bugs? A few but nothing like P5 PC. P5X doesn't refresh it's screen correctly when another app covers it. Python still has problems. I'm running a 1.4Ghz DP/1G RAM/OSX10.2.6 FF Render times - awful. If you look at Jim Burton's render test the Mac is about 45% slower then a comparable PC. As Jobe said, you should already have Mac PPP but make sure you get the SR's for it! I show V. 4.2.0.160 as the current version. HTH; Dan

I've been happy with it so far, the only thing I could not get it to do is do a exact mirror reflection of trans-mapped hair, but perhaps that is a PC problem too?
