Okay, I think we can all agree on one thing: we can not be left in limbo over the future of Bryce. Corel's been sold off? FINE. Bryce was discontinued due to financial woes, maybe the degradation of the mid-level 3D app market, whatever. We want to know if Vector plans on doing anything with the program, if it at least intends to sell it. That's all. Even if you think that it won't happen, even if you consider the future of Bryce written down in darkness, whatever it might be, I am sure that you can agree with me on the simple fact that we would all like to know what's gonna heppen to it. So the petition would only ask that question. Here's what I have written so far. Please add to it, point to the flaws in grammar and spelling, etc. -English is my second language, bare in mind :D To Whom It May Concern, We represent a group of 3D artists who are interested in seeing Vector Capital revive the development for the Bryce program from its newly-bought Corel Corporation. Many of us come from different online communities, either as established artists or growing enthusiasts, altogether people with a serious interest in this piece of software that we have grown to love. For the weekend warrior as well as the dedicated professional, Bryce filled a void as a mid-level and affordable rendering solution, used not only for landscaping but also in a variety of other fields. Indeed, there is nothing out there that Bryce can not do. Its basis is as stable as the undersigned, scores of individuals who truly find satisfaction in the program and its countless applications. All our attempts towards Corel, all our pleas for keeping the development of Bryce alive -which is by no means obsolete or even past its time, have largely failed, due to Corel's shaky financial situation. We hope that with its takeover by Vector Capital, the idea of continuing the development of Bryce 5 to other versions will be considered seriously, not only from the perspective of its large and vibrant community, yearning for its prolonged life, but also from the point of view of financial viability. We respectfully ask for an answer from Vector Capital as to the direction in which it plans to take the development of Bryce, either by continuing it, or by selling it to parties that have already manifested interest in the application. In any case, we would not like to see Bryce simply die, forgotten as some pipe dream or impossible venture, not after so much work has been put in it, not after such a community has been built upon it, with members and literature and everything else that altogether clearly show the viability of continuing the life of this product. We could not possibly bear the weight of the discontinued label, corporate language for the destruction of our only engine for imagination. We sincerely hope that a reply from Vector acknowledging this petition will be received. Thank you. ------ thanks for reading. again, add what you think is important, etc. Petitiononline.com is a great place to get this put up. I've already looked it up. Cheers Mihnea
