Just playing with fur on Furette...currently it's just one hair group, I should get started on having multiple hair groups with different lengths and hair directions.

Impressive! How long did it take to render?

Wow, that looks really good. How did you get the different colors when you used only one hairgroup?

Texture map. Dynamic hair has the same UV-mapping as the mesh from which it's grown. That's the tigress texture from one of the character packs.

Depth of field really has its price - I didn't have an eye on rendering time, but it was easily an hour or more. Without depth of field, rendering time is rather in the range of 10 minutes, but the image then looks a lot more artificial. That's using an 800MHz iBook/640 MB RAM. Other noteworthy things are that the head has 100,000 hairs and that I was using a 2 pixel sinc filter which seems to make dynamic hair look much better.

A bit shorter on the muzzle and rougher on the ruff... :) This is looking really interesting, though.
