Ummm...few months early there chief...today is SEPTEMBER 2... STELLAR image by the way. I am a huge Tolkien fan, read the triology in excess of 40 times, multiple Tolkien calendars around the office etc etc

Lol, it looks like someone didn't set the "month" hand on their chronometer. This probably means woodhurst is the authentic time-traveller in our midst. After all, when you can travel in time months are even harder to keep track of than years.

True true...although I found that being out of work for more than a year also lent itself to losing track of time. Days of the week meant nothing, days within the month? pffft...months themselves? only tracked by major holidays and even then with Christmas stuff in stores by late September who had any hope?

I hear you there Claymor! The economy sucks! And not just in the U.S.

Wonderful image - how did you do the distant forest? Has anyone ever set "Scene from Tolkien" as a monthly challenge subject?

This is a fine image and a fine tribute woodhurst. He will always be alive as long as his books survive, and I don't see them going out of fashion any time soon. 8)
