Hi everybody. This is my challenge entry for this month. I did it yesterday night and this morning, hoping to make it in time for the deadline. Had to renounce to some detail which I would've liked to play further with the sense of scale. Hope you like it as it is... Ah, technical notes: pure Bryce sky/atmosphere, sunlight only, volumetric clouds, no postwork at all, simple green ME material tweaked in ambience for the foliage, DTE trunk mat on the tree. Three terrains at 2048res for the mountain ranges, plus a single terrain for the "town". Of course, Poser imports for people and horses. And, again, in searching the fastest rendertimes for the incoming deadline, I discovered: Normal AA, estimate 5h 5' (plus the unpredictable final AA pass) Premium FX (SoftShadows 26rpp), rendertime 4h 50' Once again, the normal AA is way longer than premium. As some of you maybe already know, this is not the first time I encounter this (blessed) strangeness. I will post a post-worked, higher-res version in my gallery later. The lower-res is already submitted in the proper upload section. Yours truly :) Stefano

Ooops, in the message above the SoftShadows setting is 36rpp, not 26. S.

Glad to see that you made the challenge in time Stefano.... This is an interesting image. Will certainly be checking out your higher res image with your postwork tweaks. 8) Wade

Thanks for the comments and criticism. I know this pic is not perfect, but I really wanted to make it in time for the challenge, being the responsible for this month's theme :) Above you find the link to the higher-res, postworked version. Thanks again, Stefano

What made you make the tree so BIG ?

That is one massive tree Stefano. I'm so glad you could join us for your own challenge, it just wouldn't have been the same without you. 8) Catlin
