Subject: PS color wierdness!!

Hi all, A friend of mine has come across a rather bizarre glitch in photoshop. All her colors (color palettes, swatches etc) are completely screwed up. If you double-click on one of the little color boxes to open up the color picker the vertical gradient bar goes from washed out white to a burgundy to black, even the pantone swatches are equally messed up. She tried dumping the app and reinstalling (and dumping the preference file as well). But even with a new install the same problem is there. None of her other software seems affected (illustrator, etc, all working fine). Anyone ever come across this? Thanks for any help you can provide. Max

Max, is she running on a PC or on a Mac? And what OS? - Bill

Sounds like a bad colour profile - try re-running Adobe Gamma, using sRGB as the starting profile, or, if it's AI 9 or 10, have a look at its colour settings and make the same choices in PS.
