Can anyone help me to figure out how to make a horse (or animal) walk using the walk designer and following a walk path. I cant seem to find any poser walk files for animals. Please Help

as far as I know it's not possible. WD works only for bipeds. Lc

Neigh! It should work, but the horse will walk like a person. :0)

Walk designer does give the option to load a figure type, but I have never tried the Poser horse, and I would be really surprised if it worked!

The only way to animate a horse is with a motion capture file. The Forge sells .bvh files for horses at www.the-forge.ie. Credo Interactive also sells .bvh files and poser horse models at www.charactermotion.com. This is their animania section. They have a more complete set and includes walking. However, I think most of the motion capture files have the horse going in a straight line rather than following a path.

I've made the horse (and other quadrupeds) work in Walk Designer, but it takes a lot of finesse and tinkering, and Walk Designer can be somewhat unpredictable at times, so it doesn't always work properly.
When it does, though, it's very cool. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1271727

Looks like I spoke too soon. Little Dragon, that is neat! I had no idea that you could do that with walk designer. There is a good reference by Eadweard Muybridge on animal locomotion called Animals in Motion. It is published by Dover. It has a series of photographs of animals in different motions. It is especially good on horses. It covers them walking, galloping, jumping, pulling, trotting, etc. It also shows the corresponding poses of the riders (including sidesaddle). It also has photographs of other animals as well for walk cycles (etc), even birds in flight. If you ever have to do a motion cycle from scratch, it is a good book to have.

Agreed. Muybridge was one of the pioneers of high-speed photography and motion study, and over 100 years later his works are still a valuable resource for animators.

There's a cat walk cycle for Walk Designer in my Freestuff (link above, file is on the second page). The Readme explains one or two tricks for getting it to work.
