Hi, everyone.

I suppose I'm sorta new around here. I have downloaded (yes, even paid for) some stuff found here. It is a great site.

Okay, I've been messing around with Bryce for a couple years now. I'm no expert, though. which is why I'm here. (To talk to the experts.)

I'm trying to figure out how to make realistic looking fireworks in Bryce 5. I thought about using an upside-down tree and changing the texture to city lights, but it's not looking all that great. Any suggestions? (I searched the web and found nothing.)

Thanks!

Did you try using a 2d Image of a realistic firework? Fireworks can be made by using simple spheres, you just need the right materials/textures to make it look realistic

Ornlu had some grass models that, with the right texture applied, looked like fireworks-search in the marketplace for "ornlu" telson is also right, you could try using a picture. good luck!

Uh, you could also use a method like in my explosion tutorial. It's in my gallery. I think Woodhurst is talking about my sea creature render http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=465021&Start=1&Artist=Ornlu&ByArtist=Yes It's using two of the objects from my grass model pack, but they don't really look like fireworks imho. The explosion tutorial can obviously be modified to make any kind of explosion/firework. Just play around with that method, it's fairly easy.

Click on the monthly challenge archives button above. Choose the April 2003 challenge and look at my entry. I think the fireworks came out pretty good. I could email you those as a zip if they work for you but for the moment I have no place to post free stuff.

Holy Crap! Claymor - Awesome fireworks! At present I took the easy way out and used pics of fireworks. Not the best solution, but it works. However, if you could e-mail a zip, I'd greatly appreciate it. My thanks to everyone for their help!
