Just thought I'd show you the progress for M3 Hoplite by Lourdes and myself (a.k.a M&M Productions) I don't know if this is patriotically inspired but the props, figures and textures keep multiplying! Besides the linothorax cuirass previewed some time ago, the "muscle" breastplate is now also ready. There's a fully conformed separate tunic underneath it. And along with the Corinthian helmet (right) you can also see the high-crested Athenian version (left).

Here's a better look at the muscle armor and the typical short sandals.

The helmet collection is expanded with a plain Corinthian helmet which can be worn above the head (Pericles style) and the so-called "Illyrian" type. And for the first cuirass, the flaps are still in wip but should be done soon. The Mike 3 Hoplite and the Greek-themed projects to follow are probably our most "Colossal" efforts, a real "Herculean labor" (hint, hint!)

When can I download this amazing model

Jon posted Tue, 30 September 2003 at 3:48 PM

Hi JORDI, I just got your letter and the ebot for here. I thought it was going on sale at Daz last week but I suppose they had others planned so I'm hoping it will go on this week's update. I just contacted them and when I get a reply I'll let you know. Thanks! John

Could you add embossed detail to the helmets? Your models are fantastic, but I feel that the helmets aren't as stunning as they could be. :) I'm a big fan of the Corinthian style. Make a post to the message board when it goes up for sale! I have to get this one.

Looking impressice, although very-very historic inaccurated! Except the "Linothorax" cuirass, the "Hoplon" shield (except the SPIKES on the round "ring" - Greeks had a "secret" how they hold the metal on the wooden hull), the oblong plumed helmet and the greaves, the rest are... "Heroic Fantasy", NOT a Historic re-presentation! The sword is... anything but NOT Greek-sword! The rest of the helmets are "looking" like Greek, but they're not! ("Except" maybe of the "Illyrian"..."sort-of" helmet)... The helmet's plumes are in wrong possition (TOO forward!), the full-bronze-cuirass is... "RPG" cuirass, DEFINITELY NOT a Greek "Kodonoschemus" or the typical full-bronze Greek cuirass... The spear's length is TOO small; it looks like a JAVELIN, not a SPEAR! (The Greek spear was about 2.00-2.30m LONG!) The color combination is... "fantastic", not based on pottery-painting... ... Generally, are "looking" good, but they're NOT made CORRECTLY!... Unfortunately... "Lupus"

"i think they look fantastik. great work" Yes... probably they "LOOK" fantastic! But these models are... "FANTASY"! NOT ACCURATED!... In this link (http://s11.invisionfree.com/Hegemony_City_States/), in my team's forum (working on a PC mod)... you WILL FIND THE PERFECT Hoplites! 'Cause we are 50% GREEKS and we did 2-3 months of HISTORIC RESEARCH first!... I'm sorry, these models looking "impressive", but NOT EVEN CLOSE to be accurated... In my team's forum, we are PROUD to claim that we have THE BEST HOPLITES' models!...
