I just got Poser 5 this weekend and my mind is boggled! Where do I start?

First did you download the Update for it? If you didn't, use this link and go to (Downloads) (Poser 5) (Poser 5 Service release 3 Updater) and download both the Figure Updater and the Application Updater. Install Poser 5 Then Install the Figure Updater first, then the Application Updater. After that...c1rcle posted Mon, 08 September 2003 at 3:04 AM
Keep your manual handy but if/when you get stuck on something ask here in the forum, there's more than a few Poser5 users who can help guide you to a solution. oh yeah & like sirkrite said install the patches before you do anything with it.

And at least read the tutorial in the Poser 5 Reference Book if you don't actually do it.

If you are new to Poser, then see if you can get hold of a copy of the Poser 4 manual. The tutorial in there, written by Grey, is a superb introduction to Poser. Try asking Curious Labs for a downloadable copy- I think they should include it on the P5 CD. When you've done that one, then the P5 tutorial will introduce you to the new features. P4 Tutorial is Chapter 3. P5 Tutorial is Chapter 11.

TY for all the help! I will try both of those tutorials! Perhaps then I will have a clue as to what I am doing. Should I have gotten Poser 4 before I got Poser 5? I was told by a friend to get Poser 5????

No not really! If you start out with Poser 4 and then go to Poser 5, you will have a lot of adjusting to do. Just stick with Poser 5 and when you need help, just come here and ask. :) One of us brave pioneers with Poser 5 are sure to answer. ;)

yeah there's a few of us "brave pioneers" about ;) Poser5 can do everything that poser4 can do & a lot more besides. We're here to help & don't worry about asking something that sounds silly cause the only silly question is the one you don't ask.

The Poser 4 interface survived the Poser 5 release, hence the P4 tutorial is still relevant.
