Has anyone heard if and when they are going to release this. I have tried using V3 but it just kills my machine, and causes me way to many headaches. It seems to me for Daz its a win win situation to release it. If the mannikin is released it will make me buy more items otherwise I couldn't use. Thanks Beth

DAZ have had Lord Nakagawa's V3 to V2 mannikin for 2 months now, and they haven't released it yet. Marketting decision ? Technical issues ? No one from DAZ has commented on this yet.

Hopefully it will get released soon. Thanks, Beth

If you learn to use V3 properly, you will find that it is much less of a resource hog than V2. I can make characters averaging 15mb for a cr2 or pz3.

Daz does not want to support Vicky 2 and they do not want you using Vicky 2. They will not release the manniquin because they want you to upgrade to Vicky 3 and rebuy everything you have purchased for Vicky 2. The same thing will apply in regards to Mike 3. Look at it this way though, if just Vicky 3 gives you problems, just wait until you try using Vicky 3 with Mike 3 inside the upcoming Daz Studio. Plan to have to have a bare minimum system of: Pentium 4 3.6GHz 4GB DDR RAM 200GB HardDrive 128MB DDR ATI Radeon

Well I guess then They don't want any more of my money then! Unless they plan on upgrading my computer then. lol Beth

I use V3 with 512mb ram. I can use 3 at a time, so Mike3 and V3 together should present no problems at all. You have to manage V3's INJ morphs. You are bashing a good product out of ignorance. Plus, most V2 props I have work on V3, and I convert V1/2 textures for V3.

I hope your not talking to me, I never bashed anything, I just said it doesn't work on MY machine, and by the way I am not Ignorant, I know what a Freezing machine looks like. I also know how to manage morphs. So please don't insult someone you don't know. Thank you, Beth

I have Vicky 3 and like the character, I also know quite well how to use the INJ morphs and reduce the final size of the character files. Simple fact is that for a lot of people being able to put only 3 figures in a scene isn't good enough. Add to that what Daz is attempting to bring to Daz Studio and even more power will be required to get results. All things being equal I'd love to use V3 and M3 but fact is that computers aren't up to the level needed yet and won't be for a few more years (just in time for V4 & M4). A simple work-around would be to have Daz release a modified Vicky 2 that uses V3's joint paramiters and basic body shape that would allow people to continue buying clothing and other "new" items and use the older V2 version for the clothing they already have. Think of the new V2 as a low-rez V3. Daz won't do this though, they want you to buy the same clothing again.

Saying DAZ does not want this, and wants you to do that, is bashing. Why then do they sell the Universal Texture Converter? Since I can get great results with V3 on a non-spectacular computer, I must assume anyone that cannot does not know how to use it properly. Condemning a product because you cannot learn the proper usage is bashing from an ignorant viewpoint.

I guess I am trying to figure out where you say I am bashing it. I just said it didn't work on my machine, That's it, If that's bashing Wow we are all in trouble. I just assumed that's what these forums were about was trying to get help if something wasn't working. So I guess everyone who has problems and is looking for solutions then they are all ignorant too. Wow I guess its nice to know I am not alone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beth

The Universal Texture Converter is a brokered item that would be sold with or without Daz approval. They've just chosen to allow it to be sold though their store to make another buck or two.
