The leaves are just custom leaves with a texture made in psp.

Ok does someone want to tell me how you make this cartoon effect in Bryce. Or maybe someone could write a little tut...........eh Rayraz. 8) Catlin
Rayraz posted Tue, 09 September 2003 at 4:56 AM
As soon as I've got time I'll make a little tut. Basically my technique comes down to making cartoon textures in psp and putting them on models in bryce. Some of the outlines are modelled in bryce too with cilinders and spheres. Using cubes to outline the models is easier on the polycount, but creates sharper edges.

Another approach was shown off in the Poser Forum--the essential point was to set up the scene, then select *everything* (with appropriate grouping) and reduce the z-scale of those items. Check the tute listed in the link; should be easily adaptable to Bryce.catlin_mc posted Tue, 09 September 2003 at 11:35 AM
That's a good tut but I want to create a 3d cartoon effect I don't want it to look like something on a page of paper.
Rayraz posted Tue, 09 September 2003 at 4:44 PM
Sometimes playing with median filters and posterize settings in 2D apps can creat very nice results too. I'll post some more stuff tomorrow if I've got the time. I've gotta go sleep now :) it's 23:43 here and I've got a presentation tomorrow at school and I still have to get the posters from the printhouse before I go to school. I don't want to be too sleepy :)

I created my scene just like I would any other. The only thing I did different was using flat color textures. I painted the sides of the houses, and applied the picture as a texture onto flat square surfaces. Then I basicly put them together to make the houses. The backround sky is also just a large 2D face with a pic that I painted. I really like rayraz's version. This is because of all the 'actual line' he was able to generate. I wish I had applied alot of that in my image I'm awaiting his tut myself :) brholte
