i have downloaded both apps so i can make my own mats and mor files for v2... but everytime i try to open a file with them, i get an error, and/or it locks up... i have found a few tutorials on each subject and followed them along, and when i get to thepoint to where i have to use these applications, i cant. anyone have any idea's? im running win98, with a 500mgz P3, 256mb ram.

It could be either the mat files are being corrupted so they won't work or poser being picky about where it looks for the textures mentioned in the mats (make sure the textures are in at least the textures folder under runtime). open the files in wordpad, if everything looks ok try running them through CorrectReference (available at the link)& see if that helps.
