I decided earlier that I'd play about with the readScript sommand & see if I can get it to do all the hard work for me in poser as I'm feeling a little lazy today. At least I was until I started. I've managed to get the script to load the texture onto my figure as well as the morphs & the camera settings, but for the life of me I cannot get it to load the light set I want. Is there a set order to how the things load (am I getting them in the wrong order?) or is it just that readScript won't load lights. thanks in advance for any help or advice :)

Dunno, BFWIW we have discovered that readscript has just enough support to allow it to do things that were current when it was originally added to Poser. E.g. it can't handle ERC/FBM stuff that was believed to have been added in the release after readscript was. But it does appear to support legacy figures without figure numbers in their CR2 - needed when Poser first started supporting multi-figure scenes for backward compatitbility (which is the basis for Maveris' FII discovery). IOW, readscript was written to load the P2 casual man at the start of a new scene, and was never again touched after that in terms of keeping it up-to-date with new developments. So did light sets as we know them today get added after readscript?

readscript according to dodger directly reads in and does whatever the other file says as if it were written to the file with the readscript at that position. he says it is a direct include. he also says that if the kind of file that you are loading (not with readscript, but the file itself) cannto load lights then neither can an included readscript. readscript does not care what kind of file you call. if you call a file from a pose file it can only do what a pose file can even if you call a cr2 or light file.

Lights will load from a cr2.
