ok i ve tried everything, but i still dont know how to use the metaballs, i can create them btu how ddo i connect them and everything?? help me!!

They connect automaticlly when they're close enough to each other. You have to render the scene to see the effect. J.

Don't you also have to group them as well. Still using B4 here... But I remember playing with B5 in a store somewhere. If they're close already, it may be that you just need to group them.

no, if you group them the group will not interact with other metaballs. As derjimi said the effect is only seen in the render otherwise they just look like spheres. Do a search on the forum for some more info on metaballs (negative metaballs, groups, interaction, etc).

Rust, when you've got to grips with using metaballs come back here and we'll show you how to make negative metaballs. At least I think Aldaron will be able to 'cos I keep forgetting how. 8) How do you do it again Aldaron? Catlin

shift-click the metaball icon. It'll look just like a normal metaball (sphere) so it's a good idea to rename them.

It's also a good idea to put the negatives into their own family color for easy ID.
