How do I get glowing eyes in Poser? I've tried a light within the head and then make the eyes transparant, but this didn't work. Ant ideas? Greetz Kas.

Unfortunately, there isn't a glow channel in Poser so you can't really do this. It would probably be best to do this in post render work Paul

One way I know that works in Poser is to use reflect maps and/or play with the highlight color for the Iris on the figure (you can also use the sphere/ball prop and color/map it, make it simi transparent, and insert it over eye). Next create a small spotlight and point it slightly in front and off to the side of the figures head and set the dials for the spot to focus the beam mostly on the eyes only. Also, if your existing lighting is mostly frontal and your overall background is dark it may not be necessary to use the spotlight as the highlights or reflect map on the eyes may show up okay. You might try this way first before tackling the spotlights. Hope this helps. Rob

I hadn't thouhgt of a spotlight, but it can be done by using a web background square (particularly the ones that look like fire). Now here's the trick, you use the web back as the texture for all parts of the eye and use the same colored web back (Not a black and white one) for the reflection map and make the ball about 50% transparent. It does give a glow that satisfactory and then can be enhanced in a paint program after rendering. I know, I tried this because I wanted my vampire's eyes to glow red.

I've notice glowing objects when the image is dark and the objects ambient color is "higher" than black - even dark red gives you a glow but not quite enough. Check out this image at http://home.satx.rr.com/mtodd/diana/temp/glowing-eyes.jpg for a demo. You can see on the right, the eye is just the ambient color changed on the eyeball. On the left is the spotlight with the bright red color, settings shown and the ambient color on the eye combined.

Simular yet slightly different Q, How does one set up a 360 light? lika a candle or naked flame type? I can get more kliegs and spots than you could ask for... but the "simple" 'bare bulb' I can't figure out.... tengu in advance Wizzard
