Clint- following is a copy of an IM I sent last night to Byte Me Ok regarding an .obj file needed as a morph target for the Oxana product. If she can't help I hope you or Laetia can. -thanks. Gini Archive of message sent to Byte Me Ok: Hi Cindy, Just this evening I bought Oxana for V1/V2- I intend to use her with V2. The bad news is I'm on a Mac using Poser 4Pro and my Poser keeps telling me it cannot open the .obj file OXANA_V2. I have used MacConverter on the files, I buy loads of stuff here and convert it all with a 99% sucess rate,. Have other Mac buyers had problems that you know of ? Should I contact Clint and Laetia who helped me with the one other product I couldn't seem to convert ? I'll wait to hear from you first. She's a great character and your textures are gorgeous- I hope this can be fixed ! regards-Jeanne (Gini) (Sent 9/15 17:15)

Ok, thanks. I'm using the textures anyway. Byte Me Ok hasn't picked up the IM yet so I haven't heard back from her.

I'm another mac user and i've had that problem myself .. usually though, it's caused by one of 2 things .. either the .obj file isn't where a .cr2 expects it to be (installed into wrong directory), or it doesnt say .obj on the end. it has to end with .obj. Or, the .obj file doesnt have the same name as the reference in the .cr2. I couldnt help but notice your quoted error said "cannot open the .obj file OXANA_V2." ... notice, not OXANA_V2.OBJ, like it should be. in Windows you dont see the suffixes but on the mac you should.

Thanks rwaller, Its a problem I've had before too. I have checked its in the proper directory so I' ll look at the suffix issue. I bought the Black Lily bodice from another site and am having the same problem with that too.

OOPS- my BlackLily problem WAS ME being dippy and not noticing the geometry folder needed a different name than the one I 'd put it in. Mea culpa But on the Oxana front to be exact this time the message I get is a straightforward "Couldn't read geometry file " . I tried to open it in UV mapper and got the following messages "Bad OBJ file" followed by "This OBJ file has no facet information" and it wouldn't open.

Gini, can you explain how you're trying to open the OBJ file? Just trying to figure out if there is some sort of ProPack issue that I should look into or not... I don't have ProPack, I tried it here with P4 and it works fine. One thing you need to know is that this is not a geometries file, but a squeezed morph file. So you can't open this as an OBJ. There are steps explaining how to load the morph target in the read-me, but here they are again in bullet form so theypre easier to follow: - load Vicky 2, - double click on her head, - click the "add morph target" button in the properties dialog box, - browse to where the OXANA_V2.OBJ file is located and select it, - make sure you change "shape1" in the edit box to "OXANA_V2" before you press OK, - close the properties dialog box And that's it. :-) Let me know if this helps or not! Hi Caro, thats exactly how I tried to open it, by selecting it as a morph target just like you described. I've tried it both MacConverted and not 'cause occaisonally on my system unconverted files work. But not this time. Maybe it is a ProPack thing........

Hum... Could be a ProPack issue, then. I was hoping it wouldn't be, since I don't have a copy of ProPack that I can use to test files with. :-/ Can you let me know what your e-mail addy is? You can send it to me at laetia@renderosity.com -- I'll send you a converted file that works. Maybe me editing the file and resaving it would make it work out magically. ;-) I'll see if there's anything else I can figure out between now and the time I get home to my Mac. Thanks! Caro
