The clothing is possible. PhilC's Romantic stuff is close. The cape with the drape over the arm and all the morphs will be a complete you-know-what to do. I'd love one though.

Um... drool That is one sweet-looking guy & set-up. Makes me really wish I knew how to model- because not only would I want to make the clothes, I would want to make Him with that mane of hair. :)

The Hair is another thing. im not sure but i think im gonna use arizona hair and tweek it a bit but i dont know. i really suck at trans maps thats the only part of textureing i suck at
DCArt posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 10:37 AM
The hard part about the hair would be getting the length and flow correctly. There are very few hair modelers that could pull that off. I've been wanting some long, down to the waist, Native American hair too. I can give some hair a shot, but I think that there are others that can pull it off a lot better than I can. 8-) RE: Trans maps ... what program are you using?

Photoshop. and yeah go head and try the hair but dont overwelm yourself. work it a piece at a time. i was gonna do the vest thingy first then the jacket then the cape. but even trying to draw out what i was gonna do for the cape killed me. but i tell you for me making the character is the easy part. skin is simple to texture. and other then that i get it easy some what lol. mike 3 is not a lovely man
Shain posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 10:53 AM
ah you found me out onnetz. that Alucard and Dracula from Castlevania symphony of the Night. i just thought there was a massive shortage on eligant clothing. its almost non exsistant. its mostly "lets see what little we can put on vicky" and if you have a michael pic it never makes it over 400 veiwings even if a vicky pic sucks and the mike pic is spectacular

OK ... here's a little tip that might help you with hair transmaps. This is how I usually approach hair ... Create a layer filled completely with black. Above that layer, paint each of the hair color(s) on separate layers. For example, I start with the darkest hair color layers first, and then put each subsequent lighter color on an individual layer, so that I can adjust the opacity so that each layer blends in with the underlying colors. I work my way up to the highlight colors. When you're ready to make the trans map, merge all hair layers together, or keep the originals and make a copy of each layer to merge them together. Now ... with the merged hair color layer as the current layer, go to the Layers panel. Right-click the little layer thumbnail, and choose "Select Layer Transparency." That should set the selection to all of the hair that you painted. Now ... create a new layer and fill the selection with white. When you combine this layer with the solid background layer, you now have a trans map that should fit perfectly with your hair painting. You may have to fiddle with the contrast a bit to get it perfect, but it's a nifty way to do a hair trans. 8-) Hope that makes sense!

The clothing itself is for my Girlfriend Mary she absolutely LOVES Alucard and i told her i would make him for her.
DCArt posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 12:17 PM
OK ... one more question for the group here. Should I make these to fit default M3, or a more "stylized" (aka Bishonen-like) M3 that uses default facial and body morphs, and then I can supply a pose file with it? I'm thinking a tall, lanky M3 would be more suitable to all of these clothing layers, but I could be wrong. I'll go with the flow 8-)
Shain posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 12:33 PM
well i think that it sould start out default. but then you can do with it what you will ya know versitile when Mary was telling me about how she wanted it she used "Stylized" quite frequently so maybe stylized is a good thing. oh one more request deecey. can you make the cape double side as to texture both inner and outer cloak kinda like Dacort's sleeveless cloak.
DCArt posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 12:45 PM
OK ... I've done some more scouting on the web, and interestingly enough I also found some photos of Alucard costumes from game conferences. So now I have a bit more to go on. Fun stuff 8-) Here's what I see for parts: 1) Puffy sleeved shirt - with option to make sleeves invisible when worn with overcoat and cloak) 2) Vest with VERY intricate closures 3) Overcoat (love that trimming!) 4) Cloak with clasp and chain, and fold-over collar - two-sided for texturing. 5) Belt with chain that attaches to scabbard 6) Sword 7) Shield (found this in another image, it was very cool) 8) Boots (Love those too!) 9) Gloves (ouch, ouch ouch! LOLOLOL) 10) Scabard (Scabbard?) 11) Pants ... leathery, skin tight, with morphs to make them puffy. Am I missing anything? LOL
Shain posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 12:57 PM
hmmm not that i can tell. oh the over coat are you gonna model the buttons or are you gonna leave that to me to texture? oh and im working on the morph now ill post it here once i get it looking like i want it

true but have no fear i will do the textureing justice
DCArt posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 1:22 PM
Yup, MC, it's very cool! I should probably mention beforehand that I don't want to get into copyright issues with this, so I will probably take some "artistic license" with it, so as not to duplicate it exactly.
Shain posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 1:24 PM
oh definetly but mike is not a very good lookin man the morph is giving me some trouble. but i will get it

Ah Alucard, Castlevania SOTN was an awesome game. Can't wait to see this finished. The Wolfpact stuff from Rena and Thip looks pretty close to a lot of this.

Laurie S posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 5:23 PM
actually that looks a lot like a project that will be released into the PClub this week.. mind the cape is not part of it and the boots are not exactly the same .. but add in the Morphing cape and a good matching texture and I bet it comes close ;-). The texture I am working on for the pack is totally different but maybe one of us will try for it next week..

darken666 posted Tue, 16 September 2003 at 9:39 PM
true enough. Texturing can do wonders for any model, and it looks rather good to me. Brycetech is that set available in any form?

I'd love a version for M3 myself and would be more than happy to texture it as well :)
