Nice!! the more traditional halfling... Most try to do Tolkien's Harfeet.... I've seen the goblet... but can't remember either.... here's a thought.. try moving the main light towards the right of the scene... to put more shadow on the halfling? great render.. I like it ) Wizzard

Very nice. Also, I think the goblet comes from Wiremonger's site (will he EVER finish that bitchin castle?) Perhaps a more metallic texture for the armor? PS. Nice knife-in-the-boot.

i think you need to do some bump mapping and change your highlite color to black, everything seems a little too plastic,wish you could texmap lights in poser, maybe you could add something to cast shadows on the scene, i like to use the foliage of a tree or something like that but softly almost completely transparent.... maybe the indication of other people being present the shadow of a female maybe, or an elbow...the direction of his eyes and the expression on his face... makes me wonder whether he's steelin a purse or grabbin ass... lol.. oops pardon my french ... use the "look at" feature on the eyes... and body proportons seem a tad off maybe shorten the abdomen and chest a bit and shoulder rotation also looks a bit odd...the armor on the right foot could use some adjustment... maybe add a little something to fill in the blank spot on the right, just barely showing to give the illusion theres more to the scene than meets the eye...and the texture on the wall seems too well defined, busy even, turn it down bout 50% and add some noise...i do like the overall theme...leads the viewer to fantisize ... wonder what happens next...a little more work and you've got something there..

Actually Tolkien's "HairFeet" IS the traditional Halfling/Hobbit. It predates TSR's by a few decades.

heehee! i agree, the posing and composition and props and all are well done, but the texturing and details could use some more work. btw, though the rules of the bbay contest said you weren't allowed to post the image anywhere else first? i'd sure like mine critiqued before sending it. :/

arcady... Ok... the term halfling/hobbit was coined by Tolkien and accepted as the "norm" TSR just turned them into NPC's then later PC's... back when AD&D was Chainmail they were cannon fodder... Perchance I mispoke myself.. it was the booted vs. barefoot tingy I was attempting to get across... one of the many problems of typing whilst on the phone with a customer ).. and I think Tolkien got the idea from some olde germanic myths... same as the "Dark Elves/Grey Elves" When TSR got ahold of them they really messed them up ) Wizzard

I too have seen that gobblet before..I think it was called gobblit and might have either been done by -3- or konan. I'm leaning more towards konan though. Regards Eshal
