I'm relatively new. I've made images, but never thought they were goos enoughto share. Now that I have some, my Byte size is too large. I've tried resizing my picture, but even my thumb is 117.2 KB. Any suggestions? Thanks, Lorie

You do probably not need to resize the image Lorie, you must compress it to JPG (JPEG). All Paint program can do that. When you save your image, choose JPG format and try a 30% compressing. Does this help you?

Thanks, but it didn't help. It was already a jpeg, and the original size is 3840 X 2880 X 16 million - 31.6MBytes. I know, huge, but beautiful if I must say so myself :> When I downsize it to meet the KB size, the original pic isn't any larger than a thumb! :< Even the thumb is too large, 200 X 200 X 16 million - 117.2 KBytes. So, I'm willing to try any other suggestions you might have. Thanks again, Lorie

If you want to show your image here in the galleries, keep it at a "classical" screensize or better even smaller like 800 wide. It is not very pleasant IMHO to see only a small part of an image on a 1024 screen. So you have no choice, you must rerender your image smaller or reduce it until it is uploadabe:-). I have no better idea, sorry.

IF you would like to email me your image, I will be very happy to look at it for you and make any suggestions. Sometimes Photoshop will put additional hidden files into images. ladynimue

Hi Magic - Thanks for sending me your image - I have resized and returned it to you :) As gebe suggested - If you can keep your images to under 8 inches wide at 72 dpi - This will allow all members to view your image without scrolling. ladynimue
