Yes, that's right - I really did mean version 3! I've only occasionally used Poser as an adjunct to Vue d'Esprit scenes, and because of the infrequency of use, have never felt inclined to upgrade from my free cover disk version of Poser 3. Recently however I bought a new PC and am in the process of transferring software from the old Windows 98 SE machine (where Poser 3 worked fine) to my new Windows XP Pro beast. So far Poser 3 is the only "legacy" program that has given me problems. Whenever I try to run it, I immediately get an "Out of memory" error - a little surprising as the old machine had only 256Mb of RAM and 16Gb hard disk space, whereas the new PC has 1Gb RAM and 400Gb hard drive space. I have tried un-installing and re-instalkling Poser 3, plus using the XP Pro compatibility mode setting for emulating Windows 98, all without success. Can anyone please advise me if there is a way around this, or am I condemned to transferring models between the two machines?
