Does anyone know where I can get a poseable bat or anything similar for Poser4? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I thought I should add that by bat I mean the animal, not the baseball bat :). -Heliix

brycetech has a bat in the Marketplace, complete with transmapped fur.

daveH sells Lucifer the Bat over at aarrgghh!com (currently on sale through Halloween).

Ghastley has a free posable bat (look in the Halloween downloads).

I've used both Brycetech's and Ghastley's bats. Ghastley's bat works best if you need dozens, if not hundreds streaming out of a belfry. You can quickly pose and move on to the next and they are easy on the rendering. IIRC, you can even make the wing membrane slightly transparent. However [sound of ah-ooo-gah warning horn], don't try to pose by grabbing at wing-tips. The wings will pull apart. Use the dials. Brycetech's bat is wonderful for close-ups. He comes with fur(!), and you can make the eyes bright red and beady with anticipation. The wings can be naturalistically folded and furled in more combinations since they have more parts to them. The face has a lot of potential if you want to make different sorts of bats such as the fishing bats or fruit-eating bats. This being October, your bat will probably not be feasting on kumquats. 🤷 If your bats are just background noise, go with Ghastley's. If you need something for close-up work, Brycetech has built a nice one which is well worth the price. Carolly

Keep an eye on RDNA - I noticed in the Wishlist forum that a bat set of scatters is in prospect.

How much does the brycetech bat sell for? I was looking for something better then the ghastly bat. I need it for a closeup and I don't think the ghastly bat is going to work for me, I need it as detailed as possible. I dont have much money to be spending on it, but if it were cheap enough I might.

Dang, It's 20 bucks. I cant afford to do that. This probably isen't possible, or a very good thing to ask but I need a good bat badly. Does anyone have it and would be willing to help me out with it?

Heliix ( ) posted Sat, 04 October 2003 at 6:16 PM

Jeez, the brycetech pack is 65 bucks for the critter pack. I REALLY cant afford that. I just need the bat. =

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Sat, 04 October 2003 at 10:49 PM

brycetech's bat, by itself, is $16.

Not free...but may be just the bat for your collection. ;)

sparrowheart ( ) posted Wed, 15 October 2003 at 7:38 PM

This one just appeared and I have already bought it!!! It is 30% off, which makes it $13.97 and the detail on it is astounding. Kimberly

I'm thinking we both went bats over this one. :) I still like Lucifer, but I'm sure going to take Debra Ross's bat for a test flight.
