Our nightmares reside, nascent, coiling as tendrils do, in our minds. Waiting , stoic, for the sun to set and our eyes to close. There in the length of post-midnight, our nightmares emerge. Casting shadows and spreading across our fragile psyche.

An event or experience that is intensely distressing.
A demon or spirit once thought to plague sleeping people
