Hi there everyone, I'm also new here and completely fascinated by fractals! I spent hours goinig through the galleries watching all those beautiful fractals. Now I'm going to try to make fractals myself. I started using Ultra Fractal and Fractal Explorer, and I find it quite difficult to discover which feauture/formula results in what kind of effect. But it is really great to discover the possibilities!! It is very easy to create something beautiful by accident, but having an idea and then trying to make the fractal, pffff...!! So it might take a while before I expose my first fractal here.. ;-) The link to my website has got nothing to do with fractals by the way, it is just another passion of mine, you might like it eventhough.Greetings Marit.

Welcome to the Fractal Gallery! UltraFractal has a mailing list where people share ideas and techniques. If you go to their website, you can find the address to subscribe. Also, UF has amazingly good tutorials. Have a wonderful time with them and don't forget to eat and sleep occasionally. Tres
Fractals will always amaze me!

Thanks for your friendly welcome! I will take a look on the UF website. I also started using Fractal Explorer, seems to me this one is a bit easier to begin with. Marit

Fractal Explorer is definitely easier to learn than UF. It also has a mailing list and several good tutorials. You can find the mailing list page at http://www.fractalfairy.com/~feusers/links.html Dennis

Welcome to the world of fractals and since you like fractals besides UF and FE I think you should give Apophysis a try also. Longrider
