I guess it's a private matter between you & daz but I'm a nosey sod, so what's the story on why you no longer work for Daz, Anton? I'm sure there's rumours floating about but I've not heard any & I'd rather get it direct from the phoenix ;)

Anton previously posted that he was not at liberty to discuss it. I think if you wanted to press him for more information, a public forum is not the place to do it. Just my take. I could very well be wrong.

I hope he is happy and well with whatever he is now(or will be) doing. He is such a multi-talented individual. I really miss seeing his posts,as he has always been very helpful and knowledgeable, and a very important part of this community. SWAMP

I musta missed his posting on it, no worries I'm not going to press the issue. Just me being my nosey self :)

Anton is not at liberty to state anything like he said in the other thread. I emailed Daz about it and the PClub. Daz responded by stateing that 12 artists had been recruited to take the place and give more support and timely updates to PClub.

It took me awhile to find the thread Anton posted on, but this is it. You have to wade through some irrelevant portions, but his message and the one from Daz is there, I believe.

thanks guys :)

...12 artists to take the place of Anton. Sounds about right. Anton is worth 12 of most other vendors (or more).

I was pretty impressed by that too. Seems like Anton was a very cost effective employee.

I was sorry to see him go. I recall that we asked him to update the Daz Freebies archive when he made an announcement about it, and that was the last we heard of him (and the archive was never updated). I often thought he was argumentative and temperamental, but that's how it is with creative individuals.

Really. What's a creative person with no fire? My cynical answer would be "Thomas Kinkade." Flame away, Kinkade fans! :-) Although the "divorce" is a private business matter, it's indeed sad to see such a talented person leave the DAZ stable. To my mind, his work was a primary definer of the DAZ "look." However, with no disrespect to Anton intended, I've gotta say, the idea of multiple content providers for Platinum Club sounds very wise indeed. The names I've seen so far are all of high-quality creators. It must have been really hard for only one person to be responsible for the in-house content. If, as DAZ asks us to trust, there will be an increase in the number of items released each week, all the better.

Quality is far more important than quantity, something to remember often :)

elektra posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 2:23 PM

I have to agree. As long as the quality is there, that will be a plus. But one thing I have noticed is that DAZ usually provides quality products and over time, the quality has improved, as the technology has.

c1rcle posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 2:46 PM

Sorry I wasn't trying to imply that Daz isn't supplying anything other than quality items. You only have to compare the figures they made for inclusion in the original poser4 install to the current Millenium figures to see the quality hasn't been lacking at all.

elektra posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 10:21 PM

And isn't that grand! Sorry, I didn't realize how my posted sounded. I guess I was trying to reassure that with their track record, we shouldn't have a lot to worry about.

I was on the fence about joining the platinum club. I probably would have joined anyway, but with Anton joining, it pushed me into joining. I am sad to see him go, but intersted in what will be happening next with his new work and items.
