How do you create a good looking mist in Bryce 4? I've tried several options for a nice ground mist but it lacks that "swirley" effect. Any help would be appreciated LoboUK

The volumric could planes work to a degree, as do cloud planes below the horizon. Mostly its sit there and work with the cloud materials until you get something resembling what you want, then take it into PSP or PS to get it closer. hope that helps.

Thanks, I'll give that a go. Must admit, I never thought of putting the cloud planes below the horizon LoboUK D'oh!

You can also use a cloud texture on the land plane for something different too :)

I've created smoke and other things by applying those "cloudy" textures to shapes like the doughnut and cylinders...then with a little bit of tweaking you can work them / shape them into a "mist" or smoke effect of your liking... Sometimes just applying things to other stuff you'd never think of mixing together produces some wild new effects. PAN~
