I know this has been posted on before, but does anyone have a ui setup similiar to this?

Mine (poser 4) is pretty much identical except for orienting the tools vertically (alt-left click on the title) and hiding the display style tools which I never use . I don't know if it's "ultimate," but it maximizes the size of the document window. If the space hogging camera and light tools could pop up in floating windows that would be ideal.

lmckenzie how did you put your editing tools vertical?Mine is always horisontal.

What size monitor and resolution are you all using? I have a 17" monitor and find that I have to set the resolution to 1024 by 768 to get everything in comforatbly but it does make all the tools quite small an my eyesight isn't what it was LOL!

lindans: same setup... 17" 1024x768. I have to wear glasses but find it quite comfortable to work at this resolution.

How do you get the interface to stay that way in Poser 4? I try setting a preferred state, but it doesn't keep the arrangement I set up. Mike

You have to make sure you check "launch to preferred state" and "use Previous State". Also click a memory dot into the UI dots.

I had a thread a day or two ago about the same thing in P5...but if you move anything above the tabs, they get locked up there...can't move them, can't use them... Was trying to vertical the toolbars, but forgot how...thanks for that reminder :)

Another question while we are at it..Is there a way to remove a tab, for instance the Content tab in the pose room, it just takes up space??

tabs are hard coded. You are stuck with em I believe

I also save the set-up with whatever character I am mainly working on in the window so that they are already for when I come back! If I am not really using just one character then I save with an empty window which makes Poser open really quickly!

I have Poser start with a blank document window. I'm using 1152X864 resolution with a 17" monitor. The document window size is 700x600. That seems to be the best I can do.

I dont know how to set it up so it stays a certain way but if anyone has any input on how please let me know. I am working with P5, and on the pose room screen the "camera controlls and the tools don't show up. I have to click on the materials room to use these tools. --Essie

Here's mine. (1280x1024 on a 19")

Im able to set my document window to 825x825, with a 19" monitor and 1280x960 res. Setting a UI dot is a must. P4, especially propack, has a funny way of making slight adjustments to the ui.

I have two monitors. This is how I setup my Poserpropack work space. Total screen resolutions: 2048X768. My document window size depend from project to project. I moved all my tools to the left (15" LCD) and keep the document window on the Right (19" LCD).

Now this is the ultimate user interface.

With a 1600x1200 desktop (21" monitor), I've got lots of room to spare. Doc window shown here is at 1000x800. I like Ziggi's and Anton's setups for smaller sizes.

I'm left-handed (I'm betting there's a higher percentage than usual of us here), but I grew up in a right-handed world and/so the mouse is in my right hand, so it makes more sense to me to keep all the tools on the right. ~shrug~

Here's mine. 1152 x 864/17" monitor. With and without Hier editor and Joint editor. The 2 editors and the param dials are more useful to me than anything else in the poser UI. No tools, dots or display stytle. I have them alt-clicked and closed in the bottom-left corner. The first thing I do when I open poser is hit 'T' to get the Move tool. But I never use it - I use the dials for everything. The move shape just happens to be the least offensixe-looking of all the tools. I'd really prefer a crosshair cursor. Not to mention a 'minimize' option for all editors. mac

Here is mine, on a 1280 x 960 19" monitor. Not very drastic changes from the original, but it works pretty well.

OK, it's been a while since anyone showed the good old clean and lean Poser 2 interface. For those who don't know, type PO2 to get it and PO3 to return to eyecandy :-) BTW I made a small discovery. A while back I was using a utility to look at the Windows attributes of Poser and saw that drag and drop is enabled for the document window. Dropping various files only loaded the factory default casual man. I just tried it with a .pz3 and voila it loads! Not terribly useful but new to me.

Bloody hell, I use virtually the same setup as Eowyn. Yet, strangely, the Poser work doesn't come out the same... ;-)

Silke, you mean just to move the different things around? Just grab them with the mouse and move them. As easy as that. Then you can make sure that Poser loads it this way next time by going into "General Preferences" and set this as "preferred state". Also make sure that Poser loads to "preferred state" in the preferences, otherwise it changes back to the factory state next time. To change orientation of the rows with tool buttons, do ALT-left click on the title.

Here is my UI layout in Poser 4. 21 inch monitor at 1024x768 resolution. The Document Window Size in this picture is 765x621.

I also have a UI dot tha makes the Main Window as large as posible without actually hiding the UI dots.
